Ambala : Crime investigation agency (CIA) Shahzadpur in Ambala district arrested Ankit Mogli a resident of Ugala village, the accused of manufacturing the spurious liquor which claimed more than 20 lives in Yamunanagar and Ambala districts. Ambala superintendent of police Jashandeep Singh Randhawa said that Ankit was arrested at Kala Amb on Monday evening and was produced in the court on Tuesday. He was remanded to police custody for 6 days for interrogation. The Yamunanagar police sealed 23 illegal liquor outlets selling illicit liquor, said Yamunanagar Superintendent of police Ganga Ram Poonia that claimed a large number of lives in the hooch tragedy at Yamunanagar.
Of the 20 people who recently died in Haryana’s hooch tragedy which included 18 from Yamunanagar district and two from Ambala district, whereas another couple of persons still stated serious and admitted in hospitals. Police claim to have arrested 13 people so far and efforts are being made by the police for the arrest of few others. The mastermind in manufacturing spurious liquor Ankit Mogli studied up to matric was involved in this illegal business since a long time after getting manufacturing process from Youtube, and earlier started manufacturing illicit liquor at Saha in Ambala district during when the entire country was in the grip of epidemic outbreak and most of the liquor vends were closed down. He had close association with gangster Monu Rana when both were lodged in the jail and both constituted a plan to start a factory to produce spurious liquor after their release from the jail when Mogli hired a closed factory located at a lonely place at village Dhanaura under Mulana police station in Ambala district. According to information Mogli’s father-in-law too was running a pharma manufacturing company. Mogli was also arrested a number of times allegedly smuggling drugs.
Investigation revealed that Mogli had supplied nearly 450 cases of spurious liquor in the area manufactured with the help of labour arranged from Muzaffarnagar in U.P. Investigation also revealed that Mogli had also supplied 200 cases of Malta’ brand illicit liquor at various liquor shops in Yamunanagar district for which SP Ambala had also raised an alert in the newspapers. Investigation further revealed that as many as nearly 50 cases of spurious liquor prepared with ENA and spirit were supplied by him which claimed several lives. However, finding deaths as many as 20 cases of this poisonous liquor were destroyed by one of his companions Prince, a resident of village Milk in Naraingarh sub division in Ambala district. Meanwhile, police have arrested two youths identified as Ramandeep alias Deepu and Anshul ,both residents of Karnal used to smuggle and supply ENA (Extra Neutral Alcohol) to the manufacturers of spurious liquor.
