Chandigarh: President of the Indian Wrestlers Federation Brijbhushan Sharan Singh also MP from Kesarganj Lok Sabha constituency alleged involved in sex exploitation of female wrestlers has now taken political turn with the entry of large number of political opposition leaders making statements against him. Interacting media persons Brijbhushan made an appeal to the protesting wrestlers to discontinue protest immediately which will not only prove harmful for the wrestlers as well as future of the game, but also adversely affect the moral of new wrestlers as well as image of wrestling game. He said that he is prepared to be hanged in case allegations against him prove true.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda accuse Brijbhushan having criminal record with nearly 40 cases registered against him in past including sex exploitation of about eight female wrestlers. He said, it is surprising that Brijbhushan making blames against different persons including leaders of political parties in opposition, industrialists and also against him too responsible for present wrestlers protest. Ranjit Chautala, Haryana state electricity & jails minister also strongly condemned Brijbhushan saying that he himself should have immediately submitted resignation on humanity ground after such a serious, nasty sex exploitation charges against him. Information reveals, there is a long list of political leaders demanding resignation by Brijbhushan and expressed concern raising question over police taken no action so far in-spite of the fact sex exploitation cases have been registered against him. Meanwhile, after release from jail controversial leader Navjot Singh Sidhu too jumped over the protest stage in support of wresters demanding immediate resignation by Brijbhushan since fair police investigation will not be possible as long as he was in power. Sidhu said, it is surprising police has not taken any action against the alleged accuse although many days have passed which clearly shows that ruling government sheltering him.
Information reveals that junior wrestling championship was to be held at Delhi but the protesting wrestlers wrote to the Union Sports Minister and Olympic Sangh that female wrestlers are unsafe refusing to participate, as such championship was postponed and this sports contest is now being held at Kazikstan. Moreover, under-15 world championship contest has also been postponed although Brijbhushan assured not to attend such events for the sake of reputation of sports in the country. Deepender Singh Hooda has now demanded CBI investigation against Brijbhushan in this matter since most of female wrestlers feel themselves unsafe during wrestling tournaments. Hooda blame ruling BJP government sheltering Brijbhushan.On the other hand, Federation president Brijbhushan denying allegations against him said that its only a conspiracy against him by a handful of political people to tarnish his reputation for their self-vested interest. He said that nearly 90% wrestlers in Haryana state are in his favour and in case he was characterless why action has not been taken against him so far as he is holding the chair since 2013, which clearling indicates that sports stage has become a political stage all of sudden.
