*Every section of society has been taken care of and no new tax has been imposed
Chandigarh: Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij said that the budget presented in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha is a budget of public interest, every section of the society has been taken care of and no new tax has been imposed in this budget.
Expressing his reaction regarding the budget presented in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Vij said that a tax-free budget of Rs 1,89,876.61 crore has been presented for the year 2024-25 and this budget will be higher than the revised estimates of Rs 70,490.84 crore in 11.37 percent.
Congratulating Chief Minister Manohar Lal, who is also the Finance Minister of the state, for the budget presented in public interest, Vij said that Rs 9,579.16 crore has been proposed to the health, medical education and AYUSH sectors for the financial year 2024-25, representing an increase of 23.89 per cent over the revised estimates of Rs 7,731.88 crore for the current year.
Similarly, it has now been proposed to extend the benefits of Chirayu-Ayushman Bharat Scheme to those families whose annual income is more than Rs 3 lakh. People with annual income group of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh can avail the benefits of Chirayu-Ayushman Bharat Scheme by paying annual contribution of Rs 4000 and people with annual income group of more than Rs 6 lakh by paying annual contribution of Rs 5000 now. With this, Haryana will achieve the goal of providing universal health insurance to its citizens.
Vij informed that in the year 2023-24, kidney transplant program has been started by Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak and soon liver transplant program will also be started, for which approval has been given. This will benefit the patients of Haryana waiting for organ transplant. Similarly, cashless health facility has been implemented for all regular government employees from January 1, 2024.
Through AYUSH system of medicine, 500 health and wellness centers including yogashalas will be established in the year 2024-25. The National Institute of Ayurveda, to be established on land provided by Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board in Panchkula, has recently started Out Patient Care (OPD). The construction of this institute is expected to be completed in the year 2024-25. In the year 2024-25, New ESIC Dispensaries in Pataudi, Saha, Gharaunda and Kaithal are also expected to start.
Vij said that in order to strengthen the functioning of the police, it has been proposed in the budget to establish 150 more women help desks in the year 2024-25. Enforcement police stations will be set up in every district to assist the departments of Mining and Geology, Excise and Taxation, Irrigation and Water Resources, Transport, Town and Country Planning and Urban Local Bodies and Haryana Electricity Corporations in taking effective action against law violators. Similarly, CCTV cameras are being installed in 381 police stations and 357 police posts, which will further help in analyzing and solving crime. A training facility for Home Guard and Civil Defense volunteers and staff is being set up at Gram Panchayat Hasanpur in Gharaunda.
