Punjab Police nabbed three terrorists with arms and ammunition

Amritsar: Punjab Police have arrested three terrorists with arms and ammunition after a brief encounter during midnight.

Confirming about the arrest and encounter, police commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said, “Police  have busted terror muddle  working on the behest of terrorist Happy Passia and others sitting at abroad, recovered  one AK 47 assault rifle with cartridges,  two pistols including  imported Glock .30 bore (caliber)” with cartridges.  

Adding further he said, “ The nabbed terrorists have been identified as Lovepreet Singh, Buta Singh and Karandeep Singh are residents of Amritsar Rural area having  links with Dubai based accused who helped these nabbed accused with money and weapons. Deep investigations have been initiated in this regard”.

Singh said that during preliminary investigation it was found that on February 3, blast was occurred at Fatehgarh Churian By pass near the closed police post which was not operational. He said that on February 3, a loud sound was heard  at Fatehgarh Churian By pass  by the nearby people but it was not established that whether it was blast or something else but now with the arrest of these three accused who admitted that it was a explosive which was made by them in order to create terror in the city.

Singh said that when these arrested accused were brought here at the bypass where they had committed the crime had snatched the pistol of a police officer (ASI Gurjit Singh ), fired on the police party  and it was a narrow escape for the police party.  Two accused were injured when police fired gunshots in self defense. The injured accused  were hospitalized.
