R.K.Singh inaugurates BBMB power houses & sub-stations remote control room at Chandigarh

Chandigarh: R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for Power (I/C), Govt. of India, inaugurated BBMB Power Houses & Sub-Stations Remote Control Room at BBMB SLDC Complex, Chandigarh through digital medium from New Delhi.

Addressing on this occasion, the Chief Guest R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Minister lauded the BBMB’s team for achieving this technological advancement which is at par with rest of the world. This assumes greater importance keeping in view its completion by BBMB during these unprecedented pandemic times. S.N. Sahai, IAS, Secretary (Power), Govt. of India was distinguished guest in this event who also joined from New Delhi. Sahai congratulated BBMB for achieving automation of one of the oldest power houses in the country.

Machines of Bhakra Left Bank Power House can now be operated and monitored from Remote Control Room at SLDC, Chandigarh. It would increase reliability, improve customer satisfaction, reduce manpower, improve utilization and reduced operational and maintenance expenses. It will also lead to better coordination with Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NRLDC) for meeting Grid requirements etc.

On this occasion D.K. Sharma, Chairman, BBMB gave brief presentation about remote operation of Power Houses & Sub Stations system.
