After the incident at Rohtak sometime ago in which police arrested several persons involved in cheating insurance company, now Hansi police has busted another similar racket and registered case against 10 persons including a medical officer in government hospital and a insurance company agent. The said racket was alleged involved in cheating an insurance company to get fake insurance claims of deceased cancer patients shown died in road mishaps in fake FIRs and post-mortem reports in hospital records.
Suspecting fraud worth over rupee one core in three cases of deaths due to cancer disease including a female Santosh resident of village Bandahedi, Sanjay resident of village Jamalpur and Sunil resident of village Kapadi for insurance claims since all were cancer patients and reported died in road mishaps, Vineet Jain Chief Manager of Fraud Abuse Department in Apollo Munich Health Insurance Company lodged a complaint with DGP Haryana at Panchkula and the complaint was forwarded to SP Hansi, when Economic Crime Branch of police started investigation into the case and registered FIR against as many as 10 persons including Vijay Malik medical officer of government hospital and Manoj Kumar insurance company agent and eight others involved in the scam under sections 120-B, 420,467, 468, 471 IPC. Among others included Om Parkash, Amit Goel, Sunil Kumar, Mohinder Singh, Meena, Anil, Joga Singh and Vijender residents of Hansi, Hisar, Jind and Bhiwani districts.
Police investigation revealed that alleged accuse had insured patients suffering from dreaded cancer disease and availed accidental insurance claims after their deaths on the basis of fake FIR registered with police and post mortem report in conspiracy with the doctor confirming accidental death..Vineet Jain told that insurance company cancelled insurance claims in case of three victims after verification. Ram Phal in-charge Economic Crime Branch of police told that investigation into the case is still under process and police trying to arrest few other culprits involved in frauds.
Information reveals, Kuldeep resident of village Strod Kalan a cancer patient was reported died in a road mishap sometime ago and Hisar police registered a case against Pawan Kumar resident of Sonepat district and a former employee of an insurance company a master mind in preparing insurance claim documents presently lodged in jail in the case registered against him on April 12 this year allegedly prepared fake insurance claim documents on the death of a cancer patient Kuldeep reported died in road mishap. Pawan was brought on production warrant for investigation in the case. He used to charge Rs 3 lakh for preparing fake insurance claim documents. During police remand Pawan disclosed names of several persons involved in insurance frauds to avail claims. Police had also arrested few persons including a government doctor and a police man on the statement of Pawan.
