Racket of 7 cheats including 5 Nigerians & a female arrested

Cyber Crime Branch of Faridabad police busted a racket of seven youths including five Nigerians of them a female living in India on medical visa ground allegedly cheating more than 20 persons in NCR area on social media developing face book friendship. Those arrested by police were identified as Lidro originally hailing from London, William Miceal, Promis Abllery, Helimatmat Mohd, Okeli Nainabugo, KinniChukhu Okanta all originally hailing from South Africa, Anurag and Nishant both residents of Chawla Colony Ballabhgarh.

Dharna Yadav ACP told that more than 20 complaints of cheating Indian youths by a female introducing herself Lidro after having friendship through face book were received in which female friend lured them by sending attractive gifts and gold jewellery from abroad and in the meantime these male friends had received telephone calls from airport staff introducing them as custom officer and excise department officer advising to deposit amount of custom duty and excise tax on gift parcels in a bank account.

When complaints were forwarded to cyber crime cell, the investigating team observed that all telephone calls were made from local telephones were fake and amount of custom duty and excise duty was deposited in a local bank account opened on the basis of fake documents. However, police during investigation reached up to the members of racket involved in cheatings and during raid on the basis of location of telephone calls arrested seven youths including a female all residing together in a rented flat at A Block, Green Field Colony Faridabad. During search police recovered telephone, laptop and a computer used in criminal activities sent to the laboratory.
