Rahul Gandhi assured to scrap Agniveer scheme & waive farmer debts if Congress comes to power

Sonipat ( Haryana) : Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi during poll promotion rallies in support of Congress candidates Sonipat, Rao Daan Singh contesting polls for Bhiwani-Mahendergarh and Varun Mullana in Panchkula said that Prime Minister Narender Modi has lost his reputation allegedly the government was being run by billionaire Gautam Adani and Ambani. Pointing out at Modi government  Rahul said that loans of value worth Rs 16 lakh crore taken by as many as 22 millionaires have been waived, whereas on the other hand loans against farmers have not been waived by their government. He said, after coming to power Congress government will constitute a ‘Maafi Commission’ to prepare a list of all families below poverty line  burdened under loans and waive off immediately.

Addressing his election rallies in Haryana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to scrap the Agniveer Scheme for recruitment to Armed forces besides to waive farmers’ debt if voted to power. Addressing the Agniveer Scheme, Rahul Gandhi said that Mr. Modi had for the first time converted India’s soldiers into labourers and created two kinds of martyrs, one will be those who will get the martyr’s status, pension and all facilities and the others, the sons of poor families will not get this. He added that it was a scheme by Mr. Modi by the Prime Minister’s Office and not by the Army, adding that the INDIA bloc government would throw it in the dustbin after it was voted to power on June 4, the day of counting.
Promising to waive farmers’ debt and guarantee them Minimum Support Price for their crops, Rahul Gandhi said every time farmers asked Modi Ji to waive their debt as had done for 22 billionaires, the Prime Minister would argue that it would spoil the farmers, but Congress is going to spoil the farmers immediately after return to power and waive their debts. The former Congress president reiterated that his government would take the historic step to transfer Rs 8,500 every month into the bank accounts of families below poverty line to revive the economy and create jobs. Rahul Gandhi promised to increase the MGNREGA wages from Rs 250 to 400 and double the wages for ASHAs and Anganwari workers, besides granting the ‘Right for First Job’ to the fresh graduates. Gandhi made an appeal to the people to vote and support Congress candidates saying that the present ruling government would end the Constitution and the reservation, and save it.
