Panchkula : Addressing a press conference in his office Haryana Director General Police Shatrujit Kapoor said, there has been a 12 per cent decline in crime against women in the state, whereas much decline in various type of crimes has been recorded in the state during the year 2023. He said, a reduction in crimes of various categories has been recorded in the year 2023 due to the strict working style of the Haryana Police. As per the state official release apart from 12 per cent decline in crime against women, the robbery cases have seen a decline of 30 %, dacoity cases witnessed 28.9% fall, snatching cases dropped by 3.9%, kidnapping cases dropped by 7.2%, rape cases declined by 6.9%, sex molestation of females cases dropped by 7.9%, murder cases dropped by 9.5% and dowery demand and torture cases witnessed 8.4% fall. He said that there has been an 18.33 per cent decline in snatching cases and an 8 % decline in serious injury cases in comparison to 2022.
DGP Kapoor said that feedback is taken when the complaint of a crime againsta victim woman regarding the cases related to crime against women is registered or it is resolved in which nearly 71 complainants expressed satisfaction. He said that teams have been constituted in every district in the state and a high level training has been given to femle police for the security of females at Gurugram to control crimes against women and children. The DGP said that an important decision regarding the IPC 498A cases registered in the police stations related to dowry demand has been taken now, after investigating all the facts based on the woman’s complaint a case will be registered only against the accused since large number of false complaints are being registered in police stations at present.
DGP said that instructions to the Superintendents of Police in every district has been given that they should ensure the observance of lane driving on NH-152D, NH-44 and NH-9 passing through their respective jurisdictions. Along with this, necessary information regarding lane driving is being given by holding meetings with representatives of transport unions, DGP Kapoor said that from December 1 to December 13, challans have been issued to 6000 vehicles driving in the wrong lane. He said, state cyber crime police is trying their best to solve increasing on-line fraud crimes and has been successful in holding 70 percent robbed amounts of money in bank accounts on complaints received within four to six hours. He said that the state police also preparing a data base of autos and cabs and has already affixed unic numbers on nearly 71 % such vehicles in eight districts to maintain security to the people
