Rice exporters expect heavy orders this year

Not only in domestic markets but all over in world rice produced in Haryana state especially in and around Karnal district is in much demand due to its superior quality. It cannot be denied that rice export business has witnessed heavy crisis in past some time due to problems faced by Indian exporters in Iran and few other countries, followed by Indian exporters suffered heavy losses due to Corona virus epidemic outbreak in several countries across the world. Haryana rice exporters has now constituted a new policy and looking for export in those countries adversely affected by corona virus and presently facing severe shortage of food grains.

President of All India Rice Exporters Association Vijay Setia told that Basmati rice produced in Karnal area is in much demand in gulf countries.Indian exporters are supplying huge quantity of rice to United States, Britain, Iran and other gulf countries but exports to large number of countries had to be discontinue due to corona virus spread in many countries and Indian exporters were in a position to supply hardly 10-12 lakh ton rice in past about six months. Setia said, now exporters are seriously focusing on buyers of Basmati rice in export markets at Africa, Australia, Newzeland and gulf countries have liking for rice produced in Haryana. He said, at present India is only country across the world having surplus rice stocks and this is the right time our rice exporters may be in a position to capture all export markets including African and gulf countries the biggest consumers of rice and recover losses incurred in past some time..
Information reveals, among top 10 buyers of rice manufactured in India include five gulf countries and India is biggest exporter of rice across the world having 25% global share. Haryana exporters has made an appeal to Home Ministry requesting to open Bangladesh borders having huge demand of India rice. President of Haryana Rice Mill Exporters Association Sushil Jain told that this is the right time for exporters in the country as well as Haryana to recover losses suffered by them last year when rice export business witnessed nearly 33% decline, followed by crisis in Iran as well as bad weather conditions due to natural calamities in which huge rice stocks were destroyed disappointing farmers cultivated paddy crop as well as exporters.
