Rs 1 lakh fine on contractor, Pantry Manager in Sadbhavna Express train

Ambala : Ambala Rail Division took action against the contractor as well as Pantry Manager in Sadbhavna Express train (N0. 12234) on the complaint of a passenger Shivam Bhatt travelling from Chandigarh to Shahjahan Pur allegedly overcharging by staff of Pantry car in the train. According to Hari Mohan Senior Divisional Manager Ambala Rail Division at Ambala the complainant had sent message on Watts up  to Union Railway Minister with a copy to him as well as to Indian Railway Tourism & Catering  (IRCTC) department that an employee of Pantry car in the train Dinesh without having uniform and name plate had charged from him Rs 20 instead of Rs 15 when he ordered a bottle of Rail Neer water.

Hari Mohan told that an immediate action was taken and when the train reached Lucknow railway station railway investigation staff arrested Pantry Manager  Ravi Kumar and the contactor was fined Rs 1 lakh allegedly overcharging from the amount from travelling passenger on December 17, 2022. Meanwhile, MPS Raghav Regional Manager IRCTC said that in order to stop illegal practice of overcharging by Pantry staff in trains they have intensified checking in trains having Pantry car.

In another recent incident few days ago, Divisional Manager Ambala during routine checking at Ambala Cantt railway station also entered the catering room on platform number 1 at the railway station and found vegetables unfit for use as well as the food prepared for passengers usually being served inside Shatabdi trains passing through Ambala was found in unhygienic condition.  Hari Mohan Divisional Senior Manager told that DRM took a very serious action against Manager and staff in the canteen kitchen where food was being prepared.
