Rs 50 lakh ransom demand from garments trader in honey trap case

Surajkund police station in Faridabad district arrested  three persons including a female Roshni (35) originally hailing from Ghaziabad in a case of honey trap along with two other companions identified as Arun and Rajbir both residents of Ballabhgarh allegedly kidnapped a youth Sunil Bareja resident of Sukhdev Nagar Panipat running a garments store. Roshni was introduced to Sunil about two years ago when she visited his shop for purchases. She remained in touch with Sunil through mobile phone calls and messages on WhatsApp trying to develop intimate friendly relationship with him but failed to get response from him.

A couple of days ago, Roshni contacted Sunil on mobile phone requesting financial help since she was badly in need of money due to lock down unable to get funds from her employer assuring to refund the amount soon. Sunil along with his friend Manoj resident of Gohana went to deliver money to Roshni at the address mentioned by her at Rail Vihar Society flats in Sector 45 Faridabad on Tuesday. He went to hand over the money in the flat on upper floor leaving his friend Manoj in the car. When Sunil did not return for a very long time, suspecting a foul smell informed police control room when two police teams in police gypsy reached at the spot and found Sunil severely beaten mercilessly by three including Roshni with his clothes torn at places. Meanwhile, seeing police all three managed to flee in two cars parked on the ground by the times police reached at the spot. They were chased by police caught three at a distance.

Dharna Yadav ACP told that when failed to develop friendship with Sunil, Roshni under a conspiracy with two others called him to extract ransom amount from him, torn his clothes demanding Rs 50 lakh ransom amount threatening to lodge a police case against him allegedly attempted to rape her when Sunil frankly told that he is not having such a huge amount and she is free to take any against him, Roshni and her companions asked to pay Rs 10 lakh and finally the deal was finalized at Rs two lakh demanded by her. However, three kidnapped Sunil snatched Rs 25000 he was carrying in his pocket along with gold chain and gold ring he was wearing.. According to police, all accused were produced in the court on Wednesday and remanded to police custody.
