Sarpanch accused in honey trap case duped of Rs 5 lakh, female friend demanded Rs 10 lakh

Panipat: The police faced embarrassment while solving a case of honey trap of a village Sarpanch in Gharaunda block. The woman in police custody created a ruckus in the district secretariat below the office of the Superintendent of Police on the third floor when the police caught the woman and started taking her away in the car, she came out of the car window and kept screaming and demanding justice, alleged that the Sarpanch of Gharaunda block and his three companions gang-raped her. On the other hand, the police in-charge of Purana Industrial Thana arrested her termed the allegations of the woman as baseless.

The Sarpanch had complained to the police and alleged that he had started talking to the woman from Mukhija Colony on Instagram two months ago and became friends. He was going to Gurugram with his friend on 21 December when the woman also insisted on going to Gurugram with him. They stayed in a hotel room near Medanta Hospital at Gurugram, where they had physical relations with the consent of that woman. According to the complainant (Sarpanch), when he was coming back to Panipat on 22nd December the woman called her two friends near GT Road Toll Plaza and two youths blocked the car. The woman’s friend threatened to implicate in a rape case and demanded 10 lakh rupees. She was brought to Model Town Police Station. The deal was finalized for Rs eight lakh. She sent one lakh rupees to the account of the young man accompanying her. He gave Rs four lakh in cash to the woman when she left the police station without filing a complaint. It was agreed that Rs three lakh would be given the next day.

On Monday, Police in-charge of Old Industrial Police Station Devendra Singh was addressing the press in the Superintendent of Police’s office claiming that Rs four and a half lakh have been recovered from the accused woman and a young man known to her. The search for the other accused is going on. When police station in-charge Devendra Singh started telling about the woman caught in a honey trap and her other partners, the woman started creating a ruckus. She said that she does not even know the young men whom the police are calling her friend. According to complainant Sarpanch, the woman working in a Spa center him in Sector 18 of Panipat and they had tea in a restaurant there. The woman pressured him to take her out for a stroll. On December 21, when he was going to Gurugram by car with his friend from Panipat, the woman also insisted on going with him. He admitted to having sex relationship with her in the hotel room where they stayed during the night. He said, as soon as she got the money, she ran away from there without filing a complaint. After which he suspected it to be a honeytrap and complained to the police.

 According to the police, the woman and the middleman were caught late Sunday evening. Inspector Devendra said that the police arrested the accused woman and the middleman Ajay alias Rajesh from Model Town area late Sunday evening. Police recovered Rs 3.50 lakh in cash from the Rs 5 lakh recovered from the possession of both the accused and kept Rs 1 lakh on hold in the account. On Monday, both the accused were presented in the court, from where they were sent to jail. The woman’s allegations are baseless, she is saying so in her defense. Police have all the facts, they will present them when needed.
