Amritsar,May 22 – Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of representative Sikh organization, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has expressed grief over the demise of Iranian President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi and Iran’s Foreign Minister Mr. Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.
Expressing condolence over the demise of Dr Raisi, Mr. Abdollahian and others on board in the tragic crash, Dhami has sent a condolence message to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mr. Hojatoleslam Seyed Ali Khamenei, Government of Iran and the bereaved families. He also prayed to the Akal Purakh for the peace of the departed souls.
Dhami, as the president of SGPC, the representative organization of Sikhs, said in his condolence message that the relationship of Sikhs with the land of Iran has been connected since the time of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s travel and many Sikh families live there. He said that the demise of Iranian President Dr. Raisi, Foreign Minister Mr. Abdollahian and others in a helicopter crash are extremely sad. On behalf of the entire Sikh community, the SGPC President paid tribute to the departed souls by expressing his condolences to the Supreme Leader of Iranian Government.
It is extremely sad that Raisi and Foreign Minister Mr. Amir and other passengers died in a helicopter accident. He further said that we recognize the seriousness of the Iranian Government towards the Sikh community of Iran with its 100 years of history and pray for further strengthening of mutual relationships.
