SHO held for accepting bribe of Rs 30,000 by Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau

Ambala : Team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ambala arrested an inspector rank police officer Gulshan Kumar posted as the SHO, Barara police station in Ambala district since August 2023 allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 for letting the dumpers carrying soil and material in illegal mining to cross area falling under his jurisdiction. On a complaint to the ACB, the complainant stated that the SHO was seeking a monthly bribe to let their eight dumpers carrying soil pass from his area without issuing challans and impounding the vehicles. The SHO who had sought Rs 2,000 per dumper and asked the complainant to give Rs 30,000 as bribe for the previous and current month.

As per the Anti-Corruption Bureau information, as per the allegations the dumpers carry soil from Shamli Road near Adhoya under Barara police station jurisdiction the SHO was allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 for letting the dumpers pass, following the complaint a team was formed and the SHO was caught red-handed while accepting bribe amount and a case was registered under the Prevention of corruption act.
