Show cause notice to 42 officers, staff at Haryana Secretariat

Chandigarh (Satish Handa): During surprise checking by Speaker Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gian Chand Gupta on a information that large number of officers as well staff members are generally arriving late on duty at Haryana civil Secretariat conducted surprise raid  on Monday and found that as many as 42 officers as well as other staff members were found absent at around 11 AM as against official time 9 AM. Gupta reached the secretariat at around 10 AM taken serious view over government officers and employees coming late on duty and show-cause notices were served to all those found absent on their duty.
Earlier, attendance was being made by biometric system, but due to thecoronavirus epidemic outbreak attendance started through a register when employees developed a habit to arrive at duty often late when Gupta collected all attendance registers at around 10 AM before starting checking. Information reveals, some of the absentees on getting information about surprise checking sent leave applications which were not entertained and few others made false excuses for coming late. Information also reveals, when attendance by biometric system was earlier being conducted during a checking 89 officials and employees were found arrived late in the office.. Gupta warned that arriving late in the office will not be tolerated at any cost in future…
