Sikh intellectuals extend financial & legal support to Jailed activist Nodeep Kaur

Chandigarh: Sikh intellectuals today extended financial & legal support to Jailed labour rights activist Nodeep Kaur.She was picked up by Haryana police on 12th January from Singhu border(Kundli) distt Sonipat when she was protesting for the rights of factory workers employed in Kundli.

Haryana police tourched  Novdeep and sent her to jailunder serious charges IPC 307(attempt to murder) .She  has been denied bail by the Session Court. Nodeep Kaur was beaten by male police .

Meena Harris an Amrican lawyer author and niece of US President Vice President Kamala Harris took up her case by tweeting that ‘Nodeep had been arrested ,tortured and sexually assaulted in the police custody and demanded her release.

Nodeep Kaur belongs to a dalit labor family,from a village in Mukatsar in Punjab and working with the Mazdoor Adhikar Sangathan in Sonipat.She has been participating in the struggle of the farmers now camping at Kundli.

Sikh intellectuals gathered at the campus of Chandigarh based Kendri Singh Sabha and decided extend financial & legal support to Jailed labour rights activist Nodeep Kaur

The Kendri Singh Sabha’s repersentatives approached her sister Rajvir Kaur and promised all sorts of help to the victim’s family.

The also appealed to the Sikhs to the Sikhs world over and farmers  leaders to extend immediately support to the victim family in their fight against injustice and police brutally.

Paricipants  in the meeting included Prof.Manjit Singh,Senior Jornalists Jaspal Singh Sidhu & Sukhdev Singh,Dr.Piare Lal Garg,Gurbachan Singh(Editor-Des Punjab),Rajinder Singh,RS Cheema Senior advocate Punjab& Haryana High Court.
