Amritsar, February 2 – Six member delegation of BJP led by Rajya Sabha member who is also former Director General of Uttar Pradesh Police visited the spot where the statue of Baba Sahib Ambedkar was attempted to damage by the accused on January 26.
On visiting the spot, delegation leader Brij Lal talking to media expressed sheer anguish against the State Government led by AAP chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, alleging that it was utter failure of the State Government which remained unable to protect the dignity of Baba Sahib who gave us the constitution.
Lal said that the incident has hurt the whole nation. After such a big incident neither State Chief Minister Mann nor party convener Arvind Kejriwal bothered to visit here to take stock of the situation, since they all were playing ‘Election-Election’ game in Delhi and don’t have any concern with the respect of Baba Sahib.
He said that AAP and Congress, one of the same thing as both, were allegedly against the Constitution made by Baba Sahib.
Talking about the incident, he said that only one accused was arrested on the spot but there was a deep rooted conspiracy behind, as some others were also involved should be investigated.
Lashing out at the AAP Government, he said that there was no hope from the Punjab Government to maintain law and order in the State. He said that presently rule of the jungle prevailing in the state as police stations were frequently attacked even police headquarter at Chandigarh was attacked with Rocket Launcher in the past, as law and order was totally collapsed here.
It may be added here that on January 26th , Police have arrested an alleged mischievous element Akash Singh who attempted to damage the statue of Baba Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar with a hammer at the Town Hall, the heritage street that goes to Golden Temple.
The incident occurred at the Town Hall in the walled city, where the statue of Baba Sahib was attempted to damage. Acting swiftly, the Commissionerate Police Amritsar registered a FIR and arrested the accused. Further investigation was still underway.
Six members who were in the delegation were Rajya Sabha Member Brij Lal, National president of BJP SC Morcha Lal Singh Arya, former Centre Minister Som Parkash, National Spokesperson Guru Parkash Paswan, UP state minister Assem Aruna and Banto Devi Kataria from Ambala.
