AMBALA (Satish Handa): Six Rafale Jet fighter aircrafts from France are likely to arrive at Indian Air Force Station Ambala on July 27, 2020 by Indian pilots already having training in France after stay at Al Dafre airbase in UAE for a day, it was assured to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh by Florence Parle Defence Minister France on June 2 this year and delay in supply of first lot was due to corona virus spread across the world. 17 Golden Arrow Squarden at Ambala, earlier looking after MIG 21 aircrafts will look after Rafale aircrafts. Group Captain of Squarden Harkirat Singh told that all preparation to receive first consignment of aircrafts at IAF Station Ambala having provision to accommodate 18 aircrafts at Ambala airbase. He said, agreement for supply of 36 Rafale jet was finalised with France in 2016 and the aircrafts would be placed 18 each at Ambala air force station and Hasimara air base. He said, nearly 51 acre additional land has been procured adjoining existing air force station at Ambala. .Ravikant Sharma Retired Air Marshal said that Rafale Jet aircrafts are equipped with most hi-tech powerful weapons to face enemy and much superior in performance as compared to J-10, J-11 and J-20 fighter aircrafts available with China, capable to attack enemies from 100 km distance at 2230 km per hour speed.
