Sixteen years old minor raped by Head Constable inside  police station

Kurukshetra: It was a nasty spot on the reputation of Haryana state police in which the accused an head constable of the police station at Babain in Kurukshetra district  was arrested for reportedly raping a 16-year-old girl. Superintendent of police Surinder Singh Bhoria said that the incident took place in the Police ‘Mitra Kaksh’ room of the police station, which was located in a separate building adjoining the police station. He said a case has been registered against the rapist policeman who was also terminated immediately. The accused head constable had come in contact with the victim girl after a complaint about her missing was filed at the police station by her family and now she was called by the accused  The accused had called her to the police station and later took her to the Police ‘Mitra Kaksh’ adjoining police stations to facilitates people in lodging complaints, The accused head constable tactfully sent the family member accompanied victim minor to bring a non-judicial stamp paper for recording the statement, asked her grandmother to wait outside, closed the room from inside under a conspiracy and raped her on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. However, the girl in her statement that she had accompanied one of her female relatives and was not missing.

After returning home, the victim, a minor girl, was seen in the state of shock and on asking disclosed the incident to  her family members  how she was sexually abused by the police head constable. Rape victim girl was taken to the local community health centre for a medical examination and a police complaint was also lodged against the head constable Shyam Lal who was arrested on the orders by SP Kurukshetra. According to the family members, the victim was living with her maternal aunt, who originally belonged to Uttar Pradesh had allegedly taken the girl along with her without informing the family when a complaint was lodged with the police and a case was registered under Section 346 of the Indian Penal Code and started the investigation.
Kurukshetra superintendent of police Surinder Singh Bhoria told media persons that the incident took place in the Police premises which is located in a separate building. He said, as per the complaint, the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and rapist head constable has been arrested. The SP said the accused cop has been terminated from service with immediate effect and he has also been sent to a two-days police remand assuring the family of victim girl that an appeal will be made to forward this case to a Fast Track Court for a strict early action against the accused, since such types of cases wih the involvement of police staff tarnished the image of police department.
