Son-in-law prime accused among four arrested in gold jewellery robbery

Kurukshetra: Crime department of police arrested four accused including son-in-law of the victim’s family living in Kang Colony and robbed gold jewellery of value worth over Rs 50 lakh on 5th August this year. Among those arrested by Kurukshetra police, the mastermind was identified as Arun a resident of Housing Board Colony Ambala City, son-in-law of the victim along with three other youths hired by him, identified as Mursaleen, Faizan and Vishal all residents of Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh. They were produced in the court after their arrest and remanded to police custody, when a complaint was lodged with Krishna Gate police station, Kurukshetra on 5th August this year by Naresh Kumari, mother-in-law of the prime accused Arun living alone with her husband in the house since her son and the daughter-in-law were settled abroad.

According to the complainant, she was alone in the house since her husband had gone to Jind on 5th August, when her son-in-law Arun arrived  from Ambala at around 1.30 PM. She offered him a cold drink and Arun went to the bathroom, whereas she went to her bedroom. In a complaint to police Naresh Kumari said, in the meanwhile three unidentified youths entered her bedroom, pushed her on the bed, masked her face and tied her arms and legs. She said the three unidentified youths threatened her not to raise an alarm if she wanted to remain alive and demanded cash and jewellery she was having. Meanwhile, Arun also entered the room when the youths also caught him and tied with rope. In the meantime, one among three youths took out a syringe and a medicine from his pocket and immediately injected a needle in her arm, when she became unconscious after a few minutes.

In statement to the police, Naresh Kumari said after she returned to sence after two-three hours found herself as well as her son-in-law Arun tied and locked in another room and during search she found that over 700 gm jewellery of value worth over Rs 50 lakh was missing from her almirah when a complaint was lodged with the police about the incident late evening. Police registered a case and started investigation, which revealed that Arun was the mastermind behind the entire episode who had hired youths having criminal background from Meerut, since he was under heavy debts and lost huge amounts in krypso trading, as such he framed a conspiracy for this robbery. Information also revealed that Arun had also obtained a loan from the bank after mortgage of his parental house at Ambala. According to police information, the entire jewellery has been recovered from the accused.
