State Vigilance Bureau arrested 2 Excise & Taxation officers accepting Rs 2 lakh bribe

Special team of State Vigilance Bureau comprising of Inspector Sumit Kumar and Inspector Saroj on the direction by Vigilance Commissioner Rajesh Faugat from Karnal arrested two officers of Excise & Taxation Department Roshan Lal ETO at Faridabad and Inspector Sumitra Godara Excise Inspector in a raid on Monday late evening when she was accepting part payment of Rs 2 lakh bribe against total demand for Rs 7 lakh from a businessman Mohit applied for GST license for running construction material business at Faridabad but having objection on his application again and again for one reason or other due to demand for bribe when Mohit made a complaint to State Vigilance Bureau at Toll Free number and a vigilance team was   deployed to investigate the complaint.

Information reveals, vigilance team in alliance with complainant conducted surprise raid when Sumitra Godara Excise Inspector was arrested red-handed in her office at Gurugram while accepting advance amount Rs 2 lakh towards bribe and on her information vigilance team also arrested Roshan Lal ETO at Faridabad. According to information, earlier both Roshan Lal ETO and Sumitra Godara were residing in a same building at Sector 39 Gurugram and there were several complaints against both in past also as revealed during preliminary investigation.

The matter was discussed in detail with Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala also holding the charge if Excise & Taxation department in the state who was on visit to Manesar on Tuesday to hold an official meeting  and took a serious view over this corruption case in his department.
