Suspected explosive material was 2.700 kilogram RDX

Amritsar, Aug 17 – Police have nabbed two suspected youth from Delhi who had allegedly planted some explosive material that was kept under the sports utility vehicle of a police official here on Tuesday, said Police.

ADGP Punjab Police R.N. Dhoke told media persons today that the explosive material which was planted under the SUV belonging to Sub Inspector Dilbagh Singh was 2.700 kilogram RDX as conspiracy was hatched to extend damage. He said that police had also seized a mobile from the spot that gave vital lead to police. He said it was a terror module.

The accused were brought here from Delhi to Amritsar by air as they were trying to flee India, said police sources.

He said that in the next twenty four, police would be able to disclose to the media about the accused, as who were behind the crime. Various police teams have been dispatched to various states of India to round up certain people directly linked with the incident.

Police said those arrested accused belonged to the Patti area of Tarn Taran district.

However, on Tuesday a car cleaner boy had noticed the object under the sports utility vehicle (SUV) of Sub Inspector Dilbagh Singh at Ranjit Avenue locality, police said.

CCTV footage shows that two motorcycle-borne unidentified people kept the explosive material under the SUV and then fled the spot.

A heavy police force along with a bomb disposal squad had reached the spot and defused the explosive material.
