Amritsar, November 24 – A suspected explosive article was found outside the Ajnala police station in Amritsar on Sunday that created severe panic in the bordering town of Ajanla.
Talking to media DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) Gurwinder Singh said that the moment police got the information, the bomb disposal squad reached on the spot and removed it very tactfully.
Earlier the entire area was tightly sealed by the police by blocking all the ways even traffic of the affected route was also diverted.
DSP said that it would be too early to say anything whether it was a mischief act of somebody else or tell about the type of explosive, since it was part of a deep investigation which was being done by the team of the Forensic department and other investigative wings. Earlier, The Ajnala police station remained in news when Waris Punjab de self-styled outfit led by its chief Amritpal Singh stormed at police station with hundreds of his supporters to get released one of his supporter who was allegedly illegally detained by the police station Ajnala. Amritpal Singh was later arrested by the Ajnala police station under NSA (National security Act) and presently lodged at Dibrugarh prison in Assam
