SVB investigation in 15 corruption cases in Haryana complete, 8 including Chief Engineer booked

State vigilance Bureau (SVB) Haryana has completed investigation in 15 corruption cases in government offices in the state and submitted final report to government for action recommending registration of criminal cases against 11 alleged accuse employed in government offices as well as private persons, besides four other cases to take departmental action against persons involved in embezzlements There are several other corruption cases yet pending with SVB for investigation and necessary action.

According to SVB report, there are several officers as well as employees working in government departments in the state including PWD (B&R), Food Supply Department, Central Cooperative Bank, SHVPN, Haryana Roadways Jind, Municipal Corporation Gurugram & Faridabad, SDM office Radaur, police stations at Nuh, Chika, Faridabad and a long list of alleged accuse caught red -handed while accepting bribe trapped in vigilance net.

State Vigilance Bureau registered a case against eight employees of Municipal Corporation Faridabad including Chief Engineer D.R. Bhaskar, Executive Engineer Raman Sharma,  Junior Engineer Deepak Thapar and few employees working in accounts department allegedly involved in Rs 200 crore fraud in which payment was released to a contractor Satveer on the basis of fake bills for installation of inter-locking tiles and various other construction jobs without doing any work. Arrested contractor during preliminary investigation disclosed that Bhaskar himself was mastermind in this case and payment was made to him without getting work done.  A case was registered against eight including Chief Engineer on March 28, 2022 and the contractor Satbeer was already arrested on the complaint of State Vigilance Bureau.

When Vigilance team tried to contact Bhaskar his mobile phone was found switched off, his house was locked suspecting absconding or might have left the country. However, Vigilance Department issued look out notice  against him at all airport authorities in the country. Meanwhile, two officers of audit department has been suspended by Additional Chief Secretary Finance Department Haryana.

According to State Vigilance Department report 22 state government  employees including senior officers were arrested  while accepting bribe this year which include  three clss I officers and 18 class III government officers. Director General State Vigilance Bureau Shatrujit Kapoor told that campaign against government employees accepting bribe has been intensified in the state. He said, cases against 13 government employees  has been registered recently under various sections of  IPC which include three  class I officer, one class II officer and seven class III officers besides two private persons apart from  departmental investigation recommended in case of 14 gazetted and five non-gazetted officers.
