While several medical research centres across the world are busy in developing medicines to fight corona virus. Like PGIMER Chandigarh a joint team of doctors from three different departments at PGI Rohtak has started research work to develop medicine for the treatment of corona patients on the direction by chanceller of  Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Health Science University.  Prof. Dr  O.P. Kalra said that the research work would be forwarded to ICMR to develop treatment for corona suffering patients.

 The team of three senior doctors from Medicine, Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine and Micro-biology departments  comprising of  Senior Prof. Dr V.K. Katyal Head of Medicine Department, Senior Prof. & Head of Department of Pulmonary Critical Care  Medical Department also State Nodal Officer Dr Dhruv Choudhary and Head of Department of PGI Micro-biology Department has jointly started research work on the basis of history of corona positive patients.

Dr Kalra told that the research team would collect history of corona patients treated at PGI Medical College Rohtak and 57  corona positive patients treated at Shaheed Hasan Khan Government Medicalo College Mewat focussing on contact history of patients, the way they suffered virus, after detection of corona positive symptoms the way recovery was made,  the level of virus and infection in patients, focus on immunity system of patients, result of  treatment after 14 days as regard recovery or death of the patients.

Information reveals that 127 corona positive cases were detected out of total number of 8088 samples at PGI Rohtak, 68 corona positive cases were detected out of total number of 4043 samples at medical college Khanpur Kalan, 25 corona positive cases were detected out of total number of 1602 samples at ESIC Faridabad, eight corona positive cases were detected out of total number of 25 samples at Kalpana Chawla Medical College Karnal and two corona corona positive cases were detected out of 916 samples at ICAR-NRCE Hisar and 57 corona positive cases were detected at Shaheed  Hasan Khan medical College Mewat.
