Ambala: Haryana’s former Home Minister Anil Vij while talking to media persons here said that he hopes the under-construction civil enclave (airport) being developed in Ambala) will be operational by August 10, 2024, and the first flight to Ayodhya will be on August 15, 2024.Vij was inspecting the work on the under-construction civil enclave in Ambala on Sunday. During the inspection, he provided some essential instructions to the authorities working on the site and also took stock of the remaining work. It is noteworthy that Anil Vij had secured approval for the civil enclave (airport) from the central government and had laid the foundation stone with the Haryana Chief Minister. Since then, the construction of the airport has been progressing rapidly, and Vij periodically reviewing the work to ensure timely completion. Vij inspected the construction of the civil enclave (airport) as part of this ongoing effort.

Duing the inspection, while intracting with the media persons, Vij said that work at the civil enclave is being carried out around the clock and he is hopeful that it will be completed by August 10, with the first flight to Ayodhya scheduled for August 15. He added that all necessary permissions from various departments have been obtained. Vij indicated that the first flight would likely be to Ayodhya and the second one would go to Jammu. He noted that the most challenging part is managing the first flight, but subsequent additions will be easier. He also remarked that cities with airports experience significant development and Ambala’s airport, being the only one located in the city center, will also increase employment opportunities.
