Chandigarh : Kharar police within 48 hours arrested a gang of three including a female allegedly kidnapped a youth student of Punjab University for Rs 50 lakh ransom demand from his parents. Three were identified as prime accuse girl Rakhi a resident of village Baroli in Sonipat district, and her male accomplishes Ajay Kadian (25) resident of village Jatal in Panipat district and Ajay Kumar (22) resident of village Abubshahar in Sirsa district. The three constituted a conspiracy to trap Hitesh a student of Punjab University in honey trap to extract ransom amount from his parents.
Hitesh was introduced to Rakhi through a friendship request in Face Book when he was highly impressed by her high profile bio-data and accepted her friendship. He went to see Rakhi at Ranjit Avenue Society complex at Kharar as desired by her when he was kidnapped by her along with her two accomplishes Ajay Kadian and Ajay Kumar. Hitesh was beaten and locked in a room. The kidnappers demanded Rs 50 lakh ransom from the parents of Hitesh threatening to kill him and a complaint was lodged with Sadar police station Kharar which registered a case under section 364A and 365 IPC and started investigations.
Navneet Virk SP Rural and Gurpreet Singh Bhuller DIG Mohali told media persons that police arrested all three accused within 48 hours with the help of police from Kurukshetra, Ambala, Haridwar and Ghaziabad since the kidnappers had made threatening telephone calls to Hitesh’s parents from on mobile phones registered at these places. Though Hitesh was rescued from the grip of kidnappers, but he was in the state of severe shock and medically unfit since he was injected drugs after every six hours to keep him unconscious by the kidnappers. Hitesh was admitted to the hospital.
