Three Killed, 7 Injured in a explosion in fire in firecrackers ‘Illegal’ unit In Sonipat district

Sonipat : In view of the arrival of festival season illegal manufacturing of firecrackers has started. Three persons including two women and a child were charred to death in a blast on Saturday  at a house in Sonipat’s Ridhau village of Kharkhoda in Haryana. According to the police, the place was being used as an illegal firecracker unit . Three persons killed and 7 others injured in the explosion at the house used as Illegal firecracker manufacturing unit Haryana. The injured were admitted to PGIMS hospital in Rohtak. A probe has been launched into the incident. Sonipat ACP Jeet Singh said that the police team found materials used in making firecrackers when they searched the spot. The owner of the property has also been rounded up and investigation is underway .
According to residents in the area a cylinder exploded. The FSL team was called and reached the spot immediately. Three burnt bodies were recovered and seven injured were admitted to hospital. Some of the family members and workers were present at the site when the blast happened at the illegal factory. The police officer also said that the deceased include two women and a child. Though the cause of the fire that led to the blast is being investigated, it is believed that the chemical used in preparing firecrackers appeared to have caught fire.  As many as 20 workers were present in the factory at the time of mishap. Among those suffered death and injuries were identified as Asra(21), Ikra (22), Chasmin (23), Farman (23), Sindra (18), Aashi (28), Neelum (40), Anjali (27) and Reena (44). According to police information, the illegal manufacturing was going on in a thickly populated residential area surrounded by nearly 50 houses, some of these were also damaged.
