Amritsar : During the ongoing agitation of farmers against the Centre Government, hundreds of farmers led by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) and Bhartiya Kissan Union Ekta (Ugrah) put their tractor on National Highways.

It was a kind of symbolic ‘Tractor March’ as farmers demonstrated their tractors at different locations of Amritsar district which would be between 12pm to 3 pm for today.

SKM leader Rattan Singh Randhawa said that the different locations where hundreds of tractors kept the direction of tractors towards Delhi were demonstrated at Ajnala, Jandiala Guru, Rayya and Beas national highways.

He made it clear that it was a kind of symbolic ‘Tractor Demonstration’ as they don’t have any schedule  to move a tractor  towards Delhi.

He said that the farmers also observed 26 February 2024 as Quit WTO Day and put tractors on the National-State Highways from 12 pm to 3pm without obstruction to traffic. The struggle is to demand the Modi Government to stop state repression on farmers’ struggle and to implement the agreement signed with SKM on 9th December 2021 including MSP@C2+50% for all crops with legally guaranteed procurement and comprehensive loan waiver among others.
