New Delhi : Much-awaited Turkish series Selahaddin Eyyubi series is finally set to release in India in January. The dubbed Hindi version promises a visual and narrative spectacle that will captivate the Indian audience. Leading the charge is Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, renowned for his charismatic performances in “Ertugul,” who takes on the pivotal role of the warrior king.
The Turkish magnum opus which is also likely to star famous Pakistani actors Fawad Khan, Adnan Siddiqui and Humayun Saeed in coming episodes, is set to redefine historical storytelling for audiences across the subcontinent. The series, shot on an expansive set in Turkey spanning 200 acres, offers a meticulously crafted journey through time, complete with mosques, bazaars, palaces, and houses.
Selahaddin Eyyubi, a collaborative masterpiece between Turkish production house Akli Films and US-based Ansari and Shah Films, will be presented to a diverse Indian audience in a dubbed version in Hindi. This strategic move ensures accessibility for a broader spectrum of viewers eager to delve into the historical saga of the legendary king.
Dr Kashif Ansari, one of the producers, while shedding light on the series’ potential, expressed, “The way [Diriliş] Ertugrul aired everywhere internationally, this series will also go places. It is a gripping historical saga that transcends borders.” He further said, “Selahaddin is an inspiration for each one of us specially in these current times when humanity has taken a backseat and the world is polarised more than ever. The king offers hope with his values of justice, kindness and compassion.”
