Two arrested in fake army recruitment fraud

Parao police station Ambala Cantt arrested two Nepali cheats, one of them introduced himself a Colonel posted in 14 Gorkha Regiment in Indian Army on the complaint of a youth Padam Bhandari resident of village Dharmawati Panchtir in Bagdula police station in Nepal allegedly cheated youths in Nepal worth lakhs of rupees assuring recruitment in Indian army issued fake appointment letters to large number of Nepali youths.
Maneesh Kumar SHO said that both identified as Narang Thapa hailing from Nepal and K.B. Thapa identified himself a Colonel in the army were arrested by police on February 3, 2019 were produced in the court at Ambala on February 4 and remanded to police custody for three days.
According to complainant,Narang Thapa  had assured him as well as five other youths Parkash Sharma, Asheesh Nagar, Sanju Khanal, Robin Giri and Nirmal Pokhrail all residing in Nepal recruitment in the army called at Ambala Cantt and stayed at Hotel Welcome for getting appointment letters against payment Rs 2.5 lakh and introduced them to fake army Colonel K.B. Thapa in army uniform at Hotel Four Season where fake appointment letters duly signed and stamped by Col M.N. Sharma and Col R.N.Singh to join training at Subashu Army Training Centre in Himachal Pradesh along with army uniforms and kit were handed over to all against payment Rs 2.5 lakh each, which were not identified when they approached training centre.
Suspecting a foul play, cheated Nepali youths contacted Narang Thapa who refused to refund amount and a complaint was lodged with the police.
