Yamunanagar/ Rohtak: Two cases of ransom demand have been reported in past couple of days in the state, among victims include a commission agent of Bilaspur grain market in Yamunanagar district Shiv Kumar has been asked to pay a ransom of Rs 1 crore in the name of Goldie Brar gang. He has been threatening to kill him and his family if he does not pay the ransom amount. The caller said that Goldie bhai has given all your details, I am giving you two days to arrange the extortion money. Earlier, the commission agent had received a threatening call in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang. It was also said that a man named Mayank will bring a token for collecting money. Bilaspur police station registered a case on the complaint of the commission agent on Sunday night, followed by a few telephone calls also came from an unknown number, Shiv Kumar resident of Machhrauli running business in the name of M/s Babu Ram & Sons in the grain market of Bilaspur living with his family in a house built over the shop in the grain market itself said in police complaint.
Shiv Kumar said that he again received a call from an unknown number. The caller said that you will have to pick up my call, if you do not pick up the phone, you may have to bear a loss. The caller identifying himself as from Goldy Brar gang said that Goldy bhai has given your number and all your details demanding a ransom of Rs. 1 crore. When he was told that he did not have that much money, he said that he will settle the matter for Rs. 70 to 80 lakhs and if you inform the police, you will be responsible for the consequences. The caller warned that if you are acting smart by recording on your mobile, then you will harm your family. The person threatening even gave information about the family and children.
In another case of extortion registered with Rohtak police on the complaint of Amit Saini alias Amit Rohtakiya, a ‘Haryanvi’ singer the police got success in the case of extortion through WhatsApp that had detained a suspicious youth from Dholpur in Rajasthan and started questioning him. However, the police are maintaining distance from the media in this matter and are not ready to say anything at present. On the other hand, PCR was stationed outside the house for the security of Amit Rohtakiya. On the complaint of Rohtakiya, the police registered a case of extortion against the person in whose name the SIM was found issued on the basis of call traced location of caller. The police arrested the youth taken into custody and presented him in the court and was remanded to police custody.
On December 21, at around 7 pm, a message was sent and a call was made to three numbers including the manager of Haryanvi singer Amit Saini. The miscreants had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from Amit Rohtakiya. After the incident, Amit Rohtakiya informed by calling Dial-112. After this, when the police started investigating, the name of a suspect from Rajasthan came to light. The police immediately raided Rajasthan and detained a suspect and started questioning him. On Rohtakiya’s complaint, the police had registered a case on the basis of the name of the number from which the message and call were made and started investigation.
