Two officials of MC Ambala, a BDPO suspended for negligence in duty

*MC members said ‘Nagar Nigam’ should be named as ‘Narak Nigam’

Ambala: Officials said minister of state for urban local bodies (independent charge) Subhash Sudha while listening to several complaints against Ambala Municipal Corporation staff in the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee Meeting held at Panchayat Bhawan Ambala City by the members of the House and also alleged misbehaviour on part of the officials who said that ‘Nagar Nigam’ should be named as ‘Narak Nigam’. Taking a serious note on the complaint by the MC members as well as a former Mayor Ramesh Mall, minister Subhash Sudha said that if this was the attitude of MC officers towards elected members what to speak about their attitude towards public visiting municipal offices for their grievances. The Minister called both the  Executive Engineer (XEN) and the Junior Engineer (JE) against whom the complaint was lodged. However, XEN Mahender Kumar was on leave and JE Sanjeev Dalal arrived, but failed to give a satisfactory reply.

Minister of state for urban local bodies Subhash Sudha also an MLA from Thanesar ordered immediate suspension of executive engineer Mahender Kumar and junior engineer Sanjeev Dalal of Ambala municipal corporation on a charge of misconduct on duty during the newly appointed minister’s first meeting of the district public relations and grievance redressal committee in Ambala city. In another case, Sudha ordered registration of an FIR against a former sarpanch of Talheri Rangran village for alleged graft for amount worth Rs. 4 lakh in construction of a ‘Dharamshala’ and ordered suspension of  Sushil Mangla BDPO allegedly taken no action in this case was taken against alleged accuse since past 18 months except a recovery notice. According to the complainant, who alleged embezzlement of government funds for an amount worth Rs 40 lakh in this case. BDPO Sushil Mangla was posted since the past eight months and took no action in this regard except a recovery notice and ordered his suspension. In total, the minister heard 15 complaints and redressed almost most of them, with a couple of complaints kept pending for the next meeting.
