Amritsar, July 24 – Security vehicle ( Scorpio Jeep) which was moving with the cavalcade of Punjab Governor Mr. Banwarilal Purohit had narrow escape when its one of the tyre burst all of sudden in the middle of the road, whereupon two security personal sitting in the jeep got minor injuries when sudden breaks were applied to stop the speedy jeep.
Confirming the incident SHO police station Gharinda Mr. Karampal Singh said that today Governor Punjab after having meetings with the village defense committees at the different border villages moving back to Amritsar when the tyre of security vehicle damaged. Only two persons received minor injuries, who were referred to Government Guru Nanak Dev Hospital Amritsar where they were found hale and hearty after being examined by doctors.
However, Governor Punjab was in Amritsar to hold a series of meetings with the village defense committees which were formed to stop cross border smuggling of contrabands from Pakistan.
Governor today visited several Indo-Pak border villages including Rajatal, Mahawa and Gharinda etc. Incident occurred when the cavalcade of the Governor was moving at Gharinda village.
