Un-efficient police officers on Vij’s hit list demands action on complaints in 10 days

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij holding ‘Janta Durbars’ at his office at Chandigarh and camp office at Ambala quite often attended by people from all over in the state usually complaining against police for not listening or delaying action on their complaints expressed disappointment while talking to media persons  said that maximum number of the complaints received by them are usually related to police inaction, delaying to sort out complaints for a long time even months. Vij in a digital meeting with all senior officers in Haryana state including IGPs, Police Commissioners, SPs, ASPs, SPs and DSPs all over in the state in the presence of Home Secretary Rajiv Arora, DGP Haryana P.K. Aggarwal, Additional DGP A.S. Chawla, CID Chief Alok Mittal, IG Amitabh Dhillon and Secretary Home Department Balkar Singh.

Sometime ago, Vij expressed deep concern over eight districts in Haryana state having maximum number of complaints received by him which included Rohtak, Palwal, Rewari, Narnaul, Panipat, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula  and written to SPs of these districts reason for delay in attending public grievances. Vij also conducted surprise raids at few police stations in the state in past some time and recently suspended three officers at Shahabad police station finding that large numbers of police complaints received in the police station were pending since a long time or not attended for months.

Anil Vij disclosed that nearly 28000  complaints were received by him during ‘Janta Durbars’ or on mail were forwarded to concerned police stations as well as SPs of districts for immediate action but he was disappointed to find that even no action taken to solve such complaints so far or action was found much delayed for a long time due to utter neglect by concerned police officers as such he decided to hold a meeting with all senior police officers in the state since delay or neglect in providing justice to complainants will not be tolerated by him at any cost in future and directed all SPs also to hold ‘Janta Durbar’ quite often to listen to public grievances and solve public complaints quickly and also wipe out crimes from their district.

Vij also appreciated the performance of those SPs  and DSPs in the state were able to solve over 90% complaints forwarded to them but expressed concern over those police offers failed to provide justice to complainants especially increasing crimes against women. He said, DSPs should conduct monitoring, investigate of all complaints forwarded by him personally and submit their report. He said, in case a complaint remains unattended for 10 days in police station the concerned SHO will be responsible and will have submit reason for the same. Similarly, in case a complaint remains unattended in a police station for 20 days DSP, in case of complaint remains unattended for 30 days ASP and in case complain remains unattended for 30 days  concerned SP of the district will be responsible and have to submit a reason for the delay to IGP and DGP in writing.

Vij said, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter trying his best to wipe out crimes from the state and he has full confidence in his police team in the state never let him as well as his Chief Minister down in their mission to make Haryana state crime-free. In view of increasing on-line crimes in the state Vij said  Cyber Crime Cells are being opened in every district in the state very soon.
