Amritsar, January 4 – Customs department officials Posted at Shri Guru Ramdas international Airport have seized 1499.50 grams gold having market worth Rs. 93,71,875.
In a statement issued here today, official stated that on receiving specific information the Customs staff of SGRDJI International Airport, Amritsar rummaged the Indigo flight No. 6E1428 arrived from Sharjah.
Official further stated that during rummaging of the aircraft two gold bars having gross weight 1508 grams found to be wrapped inside tissue and wrapped with black adhesive tape. The net weight of total gold recovered is 1499.50 grams (1000 grams + 499.50 grams). The market value of the said gold is Rs. 93,71,875/-. The unclaimed gold is seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962. Further investigation is under process.
