Union Cabinet meeting called amid special session, speculations are rife about the reason

New Delhi, 18 September, : The Union Cabinet met on the day of the beginning of the special session of the Parliament. The meeting was called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at around 6:30 in the evening. However, it is not yet clear which issue this meeting will be about. However, the Prime Minister had earlier hinted that the ‘historic decision’ would be taken in a five-day special session. In that case, it is believed that the meeting may discuss issues related to women’s reservation bill, one country, one election, name of the country.

The Union Cabinet meeting led by Modi includes Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP All India President JP Nadda. It is to be noted that the government said in the all-party meeting on Sunday that eight bills will be discussed in a special session. Among them is the controversial Election Commission Appointment Bill. Against which the opposition parties have opposed.

Incidentally, Modi highlighted the success of the G-20 summit in his speech on the first day of the special session. In his words, “It is not a party’s success, but the country’s success.” Talking about the historic mission of Chandrayaan 3, Modi congratulated Indian scientists and ISRO. After that, he commemorated in the parliament. That’s when Sansad Bhavan witnessed Nehru’s praise in PM Modi’s mouth, which is not often seen. He Said, “Nehruji’s midnight speech will forever inspire us. It was in this House where Atal Bihari Vajpayee said, Governments will come and go, but this country will remain”.
