New Delhi : The winter session of Parliament will be held from 4 to 22 December, during which 15 meetings will be held. Besides, 12 recommendations regarding the report of MP Mahua Moitra’s case will also be presented in the House in this session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi had posted this information on X Handle. He told that the winter session will be held from December 4 to December 22. There will be a total of 15 meetings in these 19 days. He is hopeful that there will be serious discussions on legislative work and other topics during the session amid Amrit Kal. This time, the results of the assembly elections of five states will also be declared on December 3 and the winter session will start from the very next day.
According to the source, three key Bills replacing the key criminal law (Crpc) are likely to be considered/passed during this session. The Standing Committee on Home Affairs recently accepted its report on the 3 Bills. Besides, other bills are also pending in Parliament, regarding the other key issues is appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commissioner. The government did not insist on passing this bills in the special session of Parliament amid opposed from the opposition. Through this bill, the government wants to bring the status of the Chief Election Commissioner and the Election Commissioner equal to that of the Cabinet Secretary, currently they have the status equal to that of a Supreme Court judge.
