New Delhi : World Earth Day, which is observed globally on April 22, witnessed Okinawa Autotech here today setting up a green team task force for their ‘Oxydrive’ campaign in which 500 Oxydrive volunteers will carry out a tree plantation drive across the country.
“Environmental sustainability is practiced at Okinawa Autotech and on Earth day, we take small steps in a manner that is explicitly involved in protecting and restoring the planet with the help of our employees who support the company’s long-term sustainability mission,” noted Mrs. Rupali Sharma, Chairperson & Co-Founder of Okinawa Autotech — one of the leading EV manufacturing companies in India.
Highlighting focus on restoring the world’s ecosystems through natural processes, she said “Okinawa will bear all resources for this one-year-long, pan-India plantation program targeting key cities like Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat & Bangalore. This drive includes Okinawa’s dealership team, customers, partners & employees across India.”
“Okinawa has run several campaigns over the years for environmental restoration in its ultimate motto of creating a healthier and greener planet with e-mobility,” she said, adding “The company’s foundations stand on its core values where it wishes to bring attention to the significant impact that switching to electric vehicles (EVs) can have on the environment and ultimately on one’s health.”
“The government of India has undertaken multiple initiatives to promote adoption of electric vehicles, which have started penetrating the Indian market in every segment. Our company aims to help people switch to electric mobility, which comes with zero or low emissions of local air pollutants, while also creating awareness for a more sustainable future for generations to come,” she added.
Okinawa Autotech, which was established in 2015 as one of the fastest-growing and most disruptive Electric two-wheeler manufacturers in India, is the first Indian company to get a FAME II subsidy from the Government of India, a release stated.
