Ambala police booked four persons of a drug de-addiction centre Kalyan Foundation at village Mokha Majra near Ambala City when a youth Gaurav (32) resident of Baldev Nagar Ambala City running a mobile shop, in the habit of drugs addiction was admitted by his family on 5th September died at the Civil Hospital Ambala City on Saturday night under mysterious circumstances. The case was registered on the complaint of the deceased’s father Raj Kumar running a utensils sale shop at Baldev Nagar Ambala City, who alleged his son was tortured too much during treatment in the drug de-addiction centre for which he had paid an amount Rs 10000 towards fee for a month.
The complainant told police that he got a telephone call from the drugs de-addiction centre at around 11,50 PM on 9th September 2023 that Gaurav was suffering from High Blood Pressure, became unconscious and taken to the Civil Hospital Ambala City when he along with his wife Saroj and daughter-in-law Ritika reached Civil Hospital immediately and found that his son Gaurav was lying unconscious on a bed in the General Ward alone and was told by staff on duty that the person brought him to the hospital disappeared immediately after leaving him. Raj Kumar approached the who after checking the patients declared dead. Injury marks were found on the body of the deceased which was sent for the postmortem. Doctor told that the cause of the death of the youth will be identified only after getting a viscera report from forensic laboratory Madhuban (Karnal). Meanwhile, police arrived at the spot.
Karnail Singh Sub Inspector told that a case has been registered against four persons Sat Pal Sharma a resident of village Mokha Majra running drug de-addiction centre, Shiwas Chauhan Warden a permanent resident of Yamunanagar and two other employees Amandeep Sandhu and Jagdev Sandhu both residents of Durganagar Ambala City. He told that during investigation injury marks were found on the body of deceased Gaurav, moreover the accused managed to slip leaving Gaurav alone at the hospital. Raj Kumar the father of Gaurav told that since that after his son was admitted in the centre he used to ring him but he was not allowed to speak to the family. He alleged, Gaurav died due to torture but the management of drug de=addiction centre wrongly said that Gaurav was suffering from High Blood Pressure and became unconscious, which was untrues. Karnail Singh SI told that investigations are going on and action will be taken after receipt of report from Madhuban laboratory and accused will not be spared at any cost and the case has been registered under sections 304 and 44 of the IPC.at Ambala City sadar police station, SHO Yashdeep Singh said as per the police, information has been received from the hospital that Gaurav has been brought dead. He said, we are likely to receive the autopsy report on Monday. The CCTV footages of the centre are being examined and other documents and records are also being checked. Appropriate action would be taken on the basis of the report.
